Course description
Small and medium-sized enterprises account for the great majority of firms and jobs in Laos, as well as in Cambodia, Myanmar and Viet Nam. As export markets, global supply chains and mechanisms such as carbon border taxes increasingly demand transparency on emissions, the green transition is no longer an option reserved for large corporations; it has become a condition for keeping markets and cutting costs.
The course has seven chapters, moving from the reasons and drivers of the green transition, through energy and emissions inventories at firm level, energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, cleaner production and the circular economy, to green finance, a transition roadmap and sustainability reporting. Each chapter includes a video lecture, an in-depth reading and a short quiz.
The content is practice-oriented, with implementation steps, assessment criteria and illustrative examples drawn from agri-processing, wood, garment and service businesses in the Mekong region.
